My comment was in reference to the connotation of “US boots on the ground fighting”.... But in regard to your own point:
You are discounting the Muslim’s rage over US non-muslim military boots that were stationed on Muslim lands, killing Muslims during the Gulf War, as well as what is currently happening in Afghanistan, and throughout that region. They have never forgotten the “Crusaders.” And when it comes down to it, in tribal conflicts, Muslims will gleefully kill each other, but they join together in Jihad against the West. Get a copy of the Koran-and read it. It is about converting the world to Islam and wiping out the “infidels”.
Bin Laden, as you may recall, expressed his outrage of the “Crusaders” entering Muslim lands. You cannot discount the fact that Christians are also vehemently hated by the Muslims. Read the Haddiths. That is what the world Jihad is all about. It is their hatred of Western values and ways....That is the “Big Satan” to them, Israel is the “Little Satan” because we all share the same values, sonny.
