Rubio has paid a lot of dues. He's no rookie.
Plus this guy is as Reaganesque as you can get. Add in fearless and you have a formidable candidate.
I thought Rubio was outstanding on Fox Sunday. He is effortlessly articulate and gives the impression that his policies are something he has thought about seriously and deeply believes in.
I think he would be an asset to the ticket but not because he would attract hispanics.
I don’t think any of the people bray mentioned would work. It would be too easy to re-quote to them all the things they said about Romney in the campaign.
Anyway, their negatives are the reason they couldn’t make it and I’m not talking just organization and money.
If Romney picks Ryan it will be a defacto endorsement of his financial plan and that wouldn’t be bad in my opinion.
But it will be interesting to see.
Oh, I respect Rubio, but not sure his honeymoon with media would last. I’m for more proven quantities I guess, like Jeb Bush to help with Florida, or Gov. John Kasich (don’t hear him mentioned by chattering class, as opposed to new Senator Rob Portman, who really is not known in Ohio - Yes, he beat the sitting Lt Governor to attain the senate seat but it was a huge anti-Obama GOP sweep AND the Lt Gov had almost no support, even in his own party. Ohio is a must win state. Kasich suffered some lumps like WI Gov Walker on public sector labor reforms. Kasich had his own TV show called “The Heartland” on Fox (2001-7). He was on Dole’s short list for VP in ‘96. He was a budget wizz in Congress (1983-2001). He has been REAL quiet. He would electrify the convention. He is also from indistrial Pittsburgh area, PA, so 2 birds with one stone (OH-PA).
