So what's the point?

I'm guessing for the same reason that I won't vote for Obama or Romney: my conscience. I won't be party to either man being elected. Whether Gargantua leaves the Presidential line blank, votes for Goode (my likely action) or some other third-party candidate, or leaves the line blank, what difference does it make to you? Conservatives, of all people, shouldn't have a problem with someone voting their conscience. You vote your conscience, we'll vote ours.

As far as Sarah Palin's support, I can make up my own mind. She might be my favorite politician but I don't have to agree with her on every issue. If you lived in Arizona, would you have followed her advice in the 2010 Republican Senate primary and voted for John McCain? I wouldn't have.

He has no record of being much of a conservative at all.

Fixed it for you.

We don't know what Mitt is exactly, aside from being a successful business person (which is a point in his favor since he at least understands the private sector)

Remember the pejorative term from the 1980s: corporate raider. It will reappear this fall, I'm certain. Bain Capital was more a corporate raider than anything else. Romney's skills as an attorney were far more in display than his business acumen. Separating corporate assets from the liabilities so that you can keep the former while sticking someone else the latter with is more in the legal domain than the business domain.

Even if Romney is the squish we all worry he is, he is STILL an order of magnitude better than Obama.

This is not as clear a call as the fear-mongers among us want to admit. Neither will do anything good for the country but Mitt Romney will most likely try to destroy the conservative movement from within the Republican Party and effectively freeze out conservatives until 2020 if elected. At least with Obama, the battle-lines with the conservatives are clearly drawn.

Hey, people's conscience tells them to do all sorts of things. Sometimes those things sounds pretty bizarre. Nothing wrong with asking why someone would write-in a non-candidate who will be supporting the very nominee they claim their principles won't allow them to vote for.

Conservatives, of all people, shouldn't have a problem with someone voting their conscience. You vote your conscience, we'll vote ours.

It's a public forum. The person is announcing his intentions to do something that makes little sense. If someone states they plan to set themselves on fire in front of an abortion clinic because their conscience tells them to, I am going to at least ask why they think this is a wise course of action.

Bain Capital was more a corporate raider than anything else.

There is nothing wrong with Bain Capital. I only wish Newt had never run his mouth about that. I think it turned Rush and other prominent conservatives against him and seriously damaged his campaign. Will the Democrats use your argument? Sure. Then again, the Democrats make all kinds of leftist arguments.

At least with Obama, the battle-lines with the conservatives are clearly drawn.

I can at least understand this argument. RINO's can do enormous damage to the conservative cause because they give the Democrats and media cover to call things bi-partisan. Still, Hussein is a far, far bigger threat right now. If Romney muddles along as President and accomplishes next to nothing, at least we live to fight another day. The Supreme Court alone is reason enough to do everything possible to get a Republican in the White House and Obama out of it.
