Oils are easier than water colors.
The problem with oils is you have to let them cure.
You want to work but it not stable yet.
I always wanted to do something with egg tempera but never got around to it. That can be somewhat imitated with acrylics too. I’ve always liked the look of those old medieval period tempera paintings.
