O’s campaign gets creepy
New York Post ^ | May 3, 2012 | John Podhoretz

The political world was transfixed yesterday by the Obama campaign’s release of a Web slide show called “The Life of Julia.” It takes about two minutes to get through, and its purpose is to wow American women with all the glorious government goodies they can and should claim throughout their lives — just so long as Mitt Romney doesn’t get elected and take them all away.

-—I’m thinking that somebody could do a “Life of Winston” to augment Big Brother Barry’s “Life of Julia.” Could be equally instructive.-—

EXCELLENT idea.

If no one picks up the idea, let’s take it viral, beginning here.

I just can’t wait for someone to use the same cartoon characters to do a spoof on this Julia character.

Sick, is someone calling your name?

I wish I had the skills to replicate the look of the Obama ad, I’d do it. But I offer the idea free to anybody else who does.

Baraq is having a fun ride spending $1.40 for every $1 he’s getting as revenue. I just hope when the joyride crashes he gets full credit as the driver.

>"Remember when the “entitlement mentality” was a negative thing?"

They shot that down in Dallas, and replaced it with the Great Society (of looters and leeches).

I thought that, too, when Rush was talking about it. Sounds like Obama intends to be around for several decades. He’s 50 now, so guess he intends to follow in Fidel Castro’s footsteps as far as longevity is concerned.

If we protest him being declared dictator for life, I suppose we’ll be accused of being “racist”.

The KKK and Margaret Sanger were vocal supporters of the Mexican repression of the Catholic Church. Calvin Coolidge sided with the Church and the knights of Columbus

Interesting bit of info.

The “cradle to grave” government intervention of Julia is exploding big time on twitter. This Obama ad concept will be pulled this weekend.

Wow, I hadn't thought about MiaT in a long time. If that's how it's spelled, she's now "Nobody by that name."

Her posts about Clinton were something else.

It is an unbelievably powerful book. Because it accurately portrays the endpoint of totalitarianism. Where the Communists want to go. Where liberals want to go.

In "1984" we see what human nature is, and we see why the founding fathers (who could have never foreseen that work) worked towards the end they did, because even though they couldn't see the end of that road, they knew it went somewhere black.

When I read "1984", I invariably think of this passage from Churchill's speech:

Hitler knows that he will have to break us in this Island or lose the war. If we can stand up to him, all Europe may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands. But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science.

From "1984": "...There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always — do not forget this, Winston — always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — forever."

Liberals cannot believe that humans, even without so called "root causes" to justify behavior, have this in them. They still believe there are ways to stamp out these characteristics of human nature.

Conservatives, and the founding fathers, understood that evil just exists, and we need to account for it. It is why the Constitution was constructed the way it is.
