The worst part of all this ethnic identity/quota business is that the competitive schools go out of their way to admit students who fit the various ethnic profiles, i.e., Barack and Michelle Obama. If they don’t really cut it academically, that’s ok, they will be coached and tutored till they get that degree. Then, voila, we have a ‘credentialed’ Ivy grad who’s not really qualified to do a damned thing. No one needs to go to Columbia, Princeton or Harvard Law to learn how to community organize. In another time and in an objective context it would be called cheating.
