Well, of course I can support him. Two words, Barack Obama.

I wish there was a Republican Party where we could vote for a Presidential candidate because we LIKED them. Or even sort of agreed with them.

Instead, some are sitting here fawning over who gets to sit in the the back of the bus again, just the way our GOP-E 'betters' want it.

You said it.
Don’t vote = Obama win
write-in = Obama win
3rd party vote = Obama win

All:
You can exercise any 3 of the options above. That’s your option. But don’t pretend that you stand on high moral ground if you do. You will not have done anything morally superior because you will have done your part to give us 4 more years of Obama. Nothing superior about that, as we’ve already learned by experience.

If he loses the WH which he will,

Then you will be happy, and we will have 4 more years of obama.

You are a Hostage to your closed mind.

I agree with your comment about the Republican party and its pathetic set of candidates, all the while knowing that I will vote for the candidate most likely to defeat him. Goode may be a wonderful candidate, but he isn’t going to win. The candidate most likely to defeat O. may, indeed, be nearly as bad, but I just can’t leave us to face 4 more years of the scourge that is Obama. I cannot.

Here’s the elephant in the room: All of the major political figures that those on this site respect have come out and said that hands down it is an easy decision to support Romney given that Obama is the democratic candidate. So all of these “ideal” former candidates / political figures recognize that there is a material difference between Obama and WHOEVER the Republicans nominate. (Note: that material difference is going to make a MATERIAL differnce in YOUR life). But life goes on and no one here offers a coherent explanation as to how this can possibly be. Obama is going to continue to destroy this country. At least with Romney we might get a temporary reprieve.

We have to play the hand we've been dealt.

Exactly, this election was lost for Conservatives when Ryan bowed out.

You might as well beat your head against a wall as to use logic with these people.

You left out the fourth option - Vote for Romney, Obama still wins.

I am curious how a guy with an approval rating of 34 percent - BEFORE the Obama slime machine turns both barrels on him - can win in November. And that is the point. The GOP-E stood back as Romney used scorched-earth campaigning to destroy any alternative to his inherently unpopular candidacy. And the GOP-E has knifed candidates in the back repeatedly for the last four years, from Sarah Palin in 2008 to Tea Party candidates in 2012. Yet they seem to think that they can yell at conservative skeptics of Romney and demand they fall in line for yet another RINO losing cause.

Sorry, it's going to take a LOT more than that.

Well Michele, there are 435 members of the House and you are just one of them. I don’t hear many of the other 434 members ‘endorsing’ the RINO Liar.

No one asked you to ‘endorse’ the RINO Liar except perhaps the Liar himself or you decided to suck up to the his people in order to get a shot at a cabinet post.

Your credibility and leadership just took another hit and is a further notch down on the list of credible conservatives.

Speaker of the House you will not be.

Good grief you are either in denial or delusional.

A simple Google search would show just how many Representatives have endorsed Romney and it is no small amount.

But just keep living in your little world.

•as the process continued those without enough support (that would be votes and money) dropped out

Uh, not quite. Romney basically destroyed any candidate who did not self-destruct first. He engaged in scorched-earth politics that makes re-uniting the party all that much harder, especially after the GOP-E knifed Sarah Palin in the back in 2008 and Tea Party candidates in 2010. He was a phenomenally unpopular putative favorite and that was reflected in his low percentages early on.

The GOP-E has shown they will fight the Tea Party harder than they will fight Democrats, yet demand the Tea Party join them in taking out Obama.

So until the GOP-E decides that the Tea Party is more than an ally of temporary convenience, they are going to have a hell of a time selling their RINO du jour.

And that is what we are seeing on FR. Trying the hard-sell the party unity theme to Romney critics - after the GOP-E showed that party unity meant bupkis to them in 2010 - aint' gonna cut it. And you're a fool for thinking the time-worn rose-colored glasses party unity sales pitch is gonna work after what the GOP-E has wrought upon the party.

We all have to do what we think is best. The choice really sucks. I'm leaning toward something like this:

If Romney wins it will be like celebrating our "ally" Stalin taking Berlin in WW2. Lots more work to do.

When election day comes there will be two choices on the ballot liberal Romney and communist 0bama.

Over the past decade or so, the political system has devolved into a one party system - the party of the inside the beltway, elitist, opportunists, who, with their rigging the system, media outlets and super-pac money select the candidate for both the Democrat and the Republicans. For sake of convenience, I will call this party the Opportunists.

Both factions of this party attempt to keep "their base" in line by throwing an occasional bone. But, both factions have the same ultimate goals, bigger government, diminishing of the human spirit and individual liberty, more control, an ever increasing bureaucracy to regulate and control the people.

The result is that with a Republican at the helm or a Democrat at the helm, the country has drifted un-halted towards a system where these opportunists make and benefit from rules to benefit themselves and we the people must obey them.

When, not if, (because the insiders have selected him) The GOP selection takes office, the government will continue to get bigger, the bureaucracy will continue to grow, your rights will continue to be diminished, the favored will continue to benefit from our tax dollars and the freedom and liberty of we the people will be reduced even more.

The only real difference is one set of opportunists will have trumped the other set of opportunists this go round and this time they will get the benefits.

It's like an opportunist pig sty, with huge hogs, of the Democratic and Republican stripe, all at the trough, larding up on the government laws, regulations, and handouts. They may jockey for position amongst themselves for a bigger share of the largess, but one thing is certain, there is no room at the feeding trough for we the people.

You may opt to go into the smelly pig sty and vote for one candidate (convincing yourself you are making a difference) because he looks a bit smaller than the other pig at the trough, but remember their both pigs and neither one of them care a wit about you.

I choose not to enter the sty lest I will start to smell like the hogs I detest.

Thank you GOP. You have betrayed us again.

Well one only needs to review 1992 to see what's about to happen if we don't focus on one candidate, Romney. A rather weak Republican was challenged by Ross Perot and we got Bill Clinton.

Bill Clinton 43%, George HW Bush 37.5%, Ross Perot 18.9%

I consider Obama to be FAR WORSE than Bill Clinton. Obama has a sinister agenda that he can't wait to implement in his second term. Much more "flexibility" as he told comrade Medvedev.

Logic reveals price and the outcome for 2012
