I think the old standby definitions of who votes for which party have been blown away in this campaign. I think people recognize that Im not a partisan Republicanthat Im someone who is moderate, and that my views are progressive.
-Mitt Romney (2002)

Obama continued: I am somebody who is no doubt progressive. I believe in a tax code that we need to make more fair. I believe in universal health care. I believe in making college affordable. I believe in paying our teachers more money. I believe in early childhood education. I believe in a whole lot of things that make me progressive.

(I’m writing in Sarah Palin’s name for POTUS.)
Newsflash: No one has to justify their vote to you.
I wasn’t sure about Romney before, but now I’m convinced that I’ll vote for him, thanks for the post!
i do not like Romney but i cannot deal with another 4 minutes of the condescending, POS child who presently “occupies” the WH- never mind four more years...
I think Romney’s best hope is that lots of liberals vote for him. His primary wins came in Obama strongholds so let him continue to count on their support. He made it clear he didn’t want mine.
Right, so in your opinion this Virgil Johnson person has the best chance?
With the two jackass you have named, apparently, you, as with a crapload of others here, want the Obama-Idiot-King for another four years.... =.=
Obama must be punished with an election defeat. The GOP candidate is the only person with a mathematical likelihood of defeating Obama. Again, it’s not about voting for Myth - it’s about removing that wicked man currently in the White House from office. Whatever Myth’s apostasies, he hasn’t actually done anything to us, yet. Obama has, and will continue to do so, until we remove him from office.
Next question....
I do not intend to walk into the polling booth muttering, "I'll show you, I'll kill me."
I'm voting for the survival of the country not for the reform of a political party.
Not voting for Romney is easy to do if you are in a deep blue or a deep red state. I’m in Connecticut, you’re in California - our votes will do nothing to keep Obama from gaining the electoral votes from our states.
Your question should be directed at purple states, in particular FL, PA, OH, MI, CO, NM, NC, VA, MN, WI
There are two possible realities...
1) Supporting Romney in 2016 against the next Democrat.
2) Supporting a Conservative in 2016.
One takes nerve.
> Do you plan to vote for Mittens in the General election?
Yes
> How do you plan to justify a vote for Mittens?
Because it will send several of you to the hospital in sheer anger and disgust.
> Is it ABO “anyone but Obama”?
Somewhat.
> Or is it ABR “anyone but Romney”?
I will not vote for the anti-Christ Obama.
> Or is it pure loyalty to the GOP?
Yes.
> or do you think Romney is the best that the GOP can offer?
No.
> Or..........do you plan to write-in a vote?
No.
>Or is there a possibility to give any thought to either Virgil Goode or to Gary Johnson?
Someone else here said it quite well, a vote fora third party candidate elects Democrats. We can no longer afford it.
The only real chance Obama has against Romney is if a third party candidate siphons votes from Romney. The folks who voted for third party will then be sanctimonious and tell us "well at least I voted my conviction" but they may never see another election in this country.
To quote Andrew Brietbart: They try to portray you in the worst possible light... and when I travel around the United States meeting people in the Tea Party who care -- black, white, gay, straight -- anyone that's willing to stand next to me to fight the progressive left, I will be in that bunker, and if you're not in that bunker 'cause you're not satisfied with this candidate, more than shame on you. You're on the other side.
In Vietnam we lost a lot of good pilots under a situation called target fixation. The fighter pilot would be so committed to a target on the ground, he would forget to pull up and actually fly the aircraft into the ground.
Pull up.
It can not be justified. To vote the enemy into your camp is suicide for Conservatism. Wanna kill Conservatism for good? Vote Romney.
The Constitution Party pulled in .15% of the vote and the Libertarian Party that pulled in .4% of the vote in '08. Those two parties couldn't even organize enough to get ballot access in all 50 states. They are not viable. The only vote left that has even the tiniest chance of undoing Milt is Paul. He is in a major national party and has been getting his people installed as delegates.
That is about where we are at in this.
Pragmatism.
