The old rule is that you will always learn if a person is from Harvard in the first ten minutes of any conversation.

I’m a little out of the loop here as I only graduated from a State University (WITHOUT DEBTS MIND YOU) — How will you know if a person is from Harvard?

TEN minutes? I can tell most times without fail by their attire.

The technical term is “ring tappers”. Comes from the sound of always tapping the class ring on the table.

In a similar vein, I was introduced to a new guy at work. He was a bit of a stiff and was referred to by a friend as "Blue Blazer." I happened to mention to him that I was from New Jersey. He said "Oh, I went to college in New Jersey." To which I replied "Really? Which college?"

That was all he needed to know that I wasn't worth bothering with ever again.
