Alexander Hamilton comes to mind. He could have been a president but he blew it by getting involved with a much younger, married woman. And Mr. Hamilton was considered an extremely brilliant man by all.
I’ve never understood why men are so governed by their gonads.

I don't if we're stupids. We're just dicks. Literally.
The smart ones though know when to back off and not give into our other head's temptation. For example, not cheating on our long term girlfriend, not sleeping with employees or married women or underage or the 2am crowd, etc.

Which would explain its stupidity.

Actually, the smart ones are those who know how to get away with the sins you list. My opinion.

That reminds me of this quote from a movie.
In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the women.

All invented by women, the nav system by actress Hedy Lamar. Actually, Lamar worked with a male co-inventor for her patent of frequency hopping, and it likely originated with her first husband who was Austrian arm manufacturer before WW2.

“it likely” = the idea had its origins....

Life is supposed to be like your penis -simple, relaxed and hanging freely. Its the women who make it hard.
Don't blame it on women!

Easy answer. From an early age the one overriding question on men's mind is how to score with women. For many of us, becoming rich and/or powerful is one of those ways to get women. Many men don't go into politics for any goal to accomplish other than to become powerful and be able to pick up chicks. In other words, men are stupid.

It’s a story as old as humanity: When Mr. P*nis stands up, Mr. Brain sits down.
