Sh** I coulda quadrupled my money
For our subcompact 9MM shootoff, we chose the Ruger LC9 and Kahr PM9, along with the Springfield EMP, Kimber Solo and SIG P290. While the EMP and PM9 have been around for several years, the other three are new on the market.
Just entered the contest at the last minute for the 10/22.
Sure would like to get that Baby Eagle we signed up for a few weeks ago.
That’s the one! The bolt cycles the entire length.
I think I want it now. Why the SCAR web page says they are restricted is weird.

“... so I guess I need to take it to the range,,,”
The dog or the gun? :)
I have improvised a ‘range’ in my secluded front yard, about 500 feet off the road, with a high bank (hill) as a backstop. We have horses and cats, but no dog. The horses are not gun-shy and the cats stay out of target range.
Neighbors do not complain...we have a muzzle-loaders club and range a quarter mile away, so the sound of gun fire is not new around here. We also have neighbors sometimes going after varmints...mostly groundhogs...not nice things to have in pasture areas!
From what I’ve read, they mainly just don’t like the cheaper ammo and lighter 115gr bullets.
good luck
Wish the article made recommendations not just list features. Good article though. Pretty much looked at them all before I made my decision.
I went with the SOLO because it had an ambidextrous thumb safety AND, which I didn’t see in the article an ambidextrous mag release. Since I just started shooting left handed it was annoying having to switch hands on my Glocks to release the mag.
For that price they better not dislike ANYTHING!
Gnight gang!
Have a great week.
Metal mag can be cranky. Mine sometimes needs to be tugged to the rear during use for reliable reloading. Using a different plastic mag seems to feed better.
I think they were anticipating that the military would buy a bunch of them, but I think the Army recently decided to stick with the M4 for the foreseeable future. I think the Ranger units got SCARs but don’t know if anyone else did.
polymer mags hold their shape better
Hummm maybe both... The dog has never been bothered by gun fire before. We shoot skeet in my yard also along with various hand guns.
I have to think this hand canon was just a bit to much for him. This S&W 500 makes my 44mag look like a BB gun..
My XD 45 ACP with Federal HydraShok makes a lot of bang for the buck, as does my 12 ga with “00” Buckshot. Not even close though to your S&W 500. S&W claim it to be “the most powerful production revolver in the world today”. Enjoy it!
Thanks I will..though $50 box of 20 rounds. I will be doing selective shooting .. The gun it self is not that much, they run about $1100 to $1500
Yes, understand that...my 45 ACP Hydra-Shoks are a relative bargin at the last price I paid about a month ago, 50 rds for $25...that is somewhat less that most posted prices, btw...4 times that is not uncommon.
