Unless a person is a conscienceless psychopath then he will in fact have to “harden his heart” in order that he may in any way kill another human being.

Would that derogatory appellation apply to a prepper who decided to "kill" his own child by giving their stored food to a mooching stranger who did nothing at all to prepare for his own well being?

Let me get this straight. If you set aside provisions to prepare against lean times, as people have done for thousands of years, then you are evil.

However, if you choose not to provide for yourself or your family then you are on a higher moral ground.
