California Professional Firefighters and SEIU Local 1000 recently donated a combined half-million dollars to the group combating a Nov. 6 ballot measure aimed at curbing unions' political power and banning direct contributions to candidates from corporations and unions.

The California Professional Firefighters Independent Expenditures PAC donated $250,000 on April 11 and Local 1000 kicked in $252,762 a couple days later, according to a report filed this week with the state.

. . . Contributions to defeat the measure now total $5.7 million.

Supporters raised about $2.9 million so far.

Same exact thing is happening in CA as Wisconsin, except not a chance of CA pulling out of it like Wisconsin did. CA is way too far past the tipping point, Democrats and unions will remain in complete control in CA and voters will give them what they want.

I have seen those back up traffic for blocks. Nine cars out of ten roll down their windows to contribute. You stand out conspicuously if you don’t. I wonder where that money goes.

Fill the boot is a fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Hundreds of thousands of dollars are collected at this event every year for this very worthy cause.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association and most municipalities requires that firefighters that participate are off duty during fund raising activities.

Greater than 80% of the firefighters in this country are volunteers. Please don't paint us all with the union brush.
