Yeah, the only way they’d probably get one with their hands is if it got spooked and ran right into them.

The more I think of SCOTUS justices hunting the more Warner Bros. images keep popping into my mind.

Quail is delicious. It sure is. The tastiest foul I have ever eaten though was a blue grouse.

We can't be certain if Justice Scalia was motivated by political reasons or simply by a desire to find a new hunting pal,
An anonymous source says they are having an affair........Can't say I blame Antonin, she's one hot babe!

I dont like anyone going out and killing animals for sport.I *ONLY* like it when people kill animals for sport. If you are killing for food, you are cheating, and you are a little liberal b*tch.
No, give me the person who kills ONLY to kill, and in the most painful way possible. THESE are MY people. The ones who not only capture a multipoint buck, but then waterboard it ... not to get any information, but simply to enjoy it sputtering and thinking it's drowning. WOOT WOOT!

Posted my #75 before I read this. I see you
are one of those soft-headed folks who has been convinced by other mush-headed folks that a normal human diet is wrong.
As I said, your world is too small; get out and surround yourself with normal people.
I'm over 74, just checked my BP at 120/69, raise my own vegetables, eat what I shoot (except for the armadillos destroying my lawn -- they carry leprosy) -- and believe you are sadly misled...

Thank you for the recommendation. I’ve never had grouse, but I will definitely keep it in mind.

Not entirely true. Down here in Texas killing hogs and letting them lay is allowed. And I'll bet they can still reproduce.

Quail and grouse are occasionally farmed, but not nearly as much as the common chicken.

Yes. That's a very good reason to shoot them. Vile creatures.

The grouse I ate was a wild bird. Blue Grouse are a mountain species and I think they mostly eat pine nuts. I don’t know how that would compare to a Prairie Grouse or any farm-raised birds.

LOL! Don't ever change, Laz.
And I mean that. Don't even increment a stack pointer.

Diet matters certainly. You could say those grouse are pre-pestoed. No shortage of wild pigs in Texas but they eat acorns that makes the meat grody.

A pine-nut diet. I can imagine that would nicely affect flavour. It seems that they may display much like a wild turkey. Lovely creatures.

LOL Now that you put it that way it probably would have been very good if I had stuffed it with a few fresh basil leaves.
That's funny about the acorns and pig meat because, if I'm not mistaken, deer that eat a lot of acorns are fatter and tastier than deer that don't.
