I don't know if these are just straw men to get conservatives on his side. I do know that any Romney pick will be better than Sotomeyer or Kagan.

The key word and problem is “potential.” Like most of the speeches Romney has given lately what he says doesn't match what he did as Governor. I'm afraid that while people may suggest he appoint conservative judges, his record says he won't. I don't think we can give the man a pass for having been in a liberal state. No one is under more pressure from he liberal media than the president. I would expect picks just like he had in Massachusetts, I have no faith that the leopard has changed his spots.

This article sums up the problem. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2865001/posts

Thanks for the link, a pretty thorough review. Since he won’t give any speeches on anything other than the economy he is basically trying to get elected by not speaking about any issues. That’s also his biggest weakness with independents and others, refusing to stand up for anything. We might not end up with much of a choice once Obama and the media get through with him.
