The line in the sand is the ""R" vs the "D." I'm gonna vote for the "R." My preferred candidates either didn't run or aren't winning. Romney isn't perfect (and no candidate was), but he's the only candidate with a chance of winning against Obama, so he will get my vote. Anyone voting for a third party candidate might as well write in Donald Duck or James T. Kirk. As Donald Rumsfeld said, "You go to war with the army you have, not the army you might want." And as Voltaire said, I won't "let the perfect be the enemy of the good." Here are a few great quotes from earlier in the thread:

Allowing a hardcore leftist to stay in office just to spite the RINO establishment is the wrong hill to die on. Just as I love it when Democrats vote for Greens, you can be sure the Democrats will love it when you vote for anyone other than the GOP nominee.

Why do you dimwits keep asking such stupid questions? It is real simple folks: If you don't vote for Romney, Obama will win. What is so hard to understand about that?

Just one thing I will add, how a person can bitch and moan about Obama day in day out and not do all they can to get him out with their vote makes no sense at all not even a little. A non vote, a write in for anyone other then Romney against Obama is a vote for Obama and the person that thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.

There is only one Perfect Man, and He isn't running. Besides he is a Monarchist anyway. Not only that, but he did not go much for temporal power, but spiritual.
That said, we will ALWAYS be voting for the "lesser of two evils" and it is naive to think that will ever change.

DU’ers jerk off to these kinds of threads.
Terrorists crouch on carpets praising Allah for your success at dividing Republicans.

Those that do not vote for Romney must make the case that a victory for 0bama is preferable. Write ins, not voting, or voting 3rd party is futile and will not advance conservativism or stop or even slow down the march to socialism.

BTW: Everything you talk about doing to create this third party could be done within the GOP easier and quicker.

“You go to war with the army you have, not the army you might want.”

I’m already in the army I want. The army I want is right here. Me. A revolutionary cell of one. My vote to revolt carried unanimously.

I’m not about to apply for the National Socialist Party simply because the French are losing. I prefer the Resistance.

“Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established, should not be changed for light and transient causes; and, accordingly, all experience [has] shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But, when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce [the people] under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.” —Thomas Jefferson: Declaration of Independence, 1776. ME 1:29, Papers 1:429

“Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental opinion of a day; but a series of oppressions, begun at a distinguished period and pursued unalterably through every change of ministers, too plainly prove a deliberate, systematic plan of reducing [a people] to slavery.” —Thomas Jefferson: Rights of British America, 1774. (*) ME 1:193, Papers 1:125

“When patience has begotten false estimates of its motives, when wrongs are pressed because it is believed they will be borne, resistance becomes morality.” —Thomas Jefferson to M. deStael, 1807. ME 11:282

“Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God.” —Thomas Jefferson: his motto.

“If ever there was a holy war, it was that which saved our liberties and gave us independence.” —Thomas Jefferson to John Wayles Eppes, 1813. ME 13:430 “The oppressed should rebel, and they will continue to rebel and raise disturbance until their civil rights are fully restored to them and all partial distinctions, exclusions and incapacitations are removed.” —Thomas Jefferson: Notes on Religion, 1776. Papers 1:548

“As revolutionary instruments (when nothing but revolution will cure the evils of the State) [secret societies] are necessary and indispensable, and the right to use them is inalienable by the people.” —Thomas Jefferson to William Duane, 1803. FE 8:256
