Virgil Goode!
Goode, not Evil!
I am excited about 0bama being defeated........but no excited about Romney being POTUS.
Election night WILL be a double edged sword.
No mystery - Sarah pulled out.
Romney’s only chance is if Obama does something extremely stupid - which I doubt.
The rest of the election will be like looking at a 1/2 good heavyweight fighter going against the champ. All will get excited for a bit. Then it will be over.

What? He is a carbon copy!
Both political parties are competing for the voters who are dependent on government for their incomes and for preventions against any new private sector competition (anti-family, anti-rights policies).
no need to fear Romney will lose in a landslide.
He loses and we are screwed. Its by design.
Good list. LOL at some of them — so true.
LOL!
I agree with much of the article, and think it is very well written and persuasive. I have to disagree with one line, though:
“The damage done by Obama in the next four years may not be as bad as one or two terms under a slightly less liberal alternative.”
I’ve been as vocal as any here at FR about my opposition to Romney. But I honestly do not think the two would govern the same. The GOP majority in the House and the likely gains in the Senate could keep Romney at least semi-honest. Mitt is not a conservative, and never will be “one of us.” He might, however, be pushed into center-right territory ala H.W. Bush. HW was no Reagan, but I’d take him in a heartbeat right now over Obama.
An Obama 2nd term, by contrast, is going to be pure, unabashed leftism. With no more elections to face, he won’t even try to moderate to his agenda (not that he’s done much of that in his first term, but you get what I mean). The only question will be how much he can be slowed down by Republicans in Congress. I also believe that if Obama is re-elected, Ginsburg and Breyer will step down confident that younger liberals will be nominated to keep the activist presence strong on the court for another generation. I’m not saying there’s a guarantee Romney would nominate better judges (H.W., to continue the example, gave us Souter after all), but that there is at least room to push.
Just MHO, of course.
Ping!
Well, we’ll be screwed for a while. But then it will all just, predictably, implode, and crash, and burn.
And hopefully we will be here to rebuild.
Hopefully. I’m not sure I’ll survive it in my current state of non-preparation.
I hope it’s a lesson to us all. Our Republic is precious. We need to take better care of it. We need to really value our freedoms and not let ONE single thing OR PERSON erode it, EVER. We know that EDUCATION is one of the most important things ...
But what did it, really? The World Wars? Technology? Television? The feminist movement? What can we really trace all of this decline to?
I guess I’m in very deep thought reflective mode lately, aftering seeing all of this and how it’s playing out. Things are just so bad ...it’s mind twisting.
I’m not sure I can vote for Romney yet. The whole ABO and all that. Part of me just wants Obama out SO badly.
And then the other part just gets nauseous at the thought of watching our country just die a slow and painful, agonizing death.
It’s like ...do you jump out the window? Or do you take your pills and just lie there and wait to die?
Some say in the previous election.. that when McCain moved up and Romney quit more then a deal was struck for McCain...but also Romney was promised “His turn” would come as we have seen it play out.... And very interesting is Romney's wife said that very thing not long ago concerning her husband..quote: “It's his turn”.
This idea of anybodies turn seems to evidence there's a line up and it is indeed the GOP who determines whose turn it is from the “regulars’ standing in line...preselected “for the win” payed in full.
It was beyond stunning when Romney declared he would claim his win before the NRC without even remotely having sufficient delegates....and half the states still not voting. But what was more stunning then this was there was zip-zero outcry from any of the politicians that Romney did this.
I realize the move was to prevent a convention which Romney would have serious difficulty debating Newt head on knowing he'd go for the jugular. But Romney wasn't about to let anything or anyone get in his way, ( and neither was his churches powerful leadership).
You can bet the strong-arming came out that nobody in the GOP better object. ..and the Democrats certainly weren't going to since Romney is their ideal to go up against obama, they all have said they could “live with” Romney even if he won over Obama.
Romney never had to present “a plan”....he only had to show up and avoid any questions which would require a straight answer in the debates. All the rest has been scripted for him...and if he gains the Presidency it will be then as well.
Rmoney bump
