Um, I’m confused. Does this mean Newt is still good, or is he now evil? Keeping track of the daily rants and tantrums has me spinning. Let’s see:
1) Ann Coulter was good, then said something we didn’t like, so now she’s evil.
2) Paul Ryan was good, then said something we didn’t like, so now he’s evil.
3) Karl Rove (that magnificent bastard, as he was adoringly called by so many FReepers), was good, but then said something we didn’t like, so now he’s evil.
4) Newt Gingrich was good, but then dropped out of the race after he said he’d stay in, so he’s now evil?
The list goes on and on. My goodness it’s hard to keep up with who’s good and who’s evil here on FR.
Oh, and NO sarcasm tag.
Word.
Too many people think that this is a debate club and forget that the goal is to win elections. People in politics (the GOP-e, as they are referred to around here) understand that. How do you win elections? You build coalitions, and you do that by having a big tent. When GOPers are trying to build that winning coalition, there are people here screaming about RINOs and GOP-e and sell outs and Lord knows what else.
Those people don’t get it. Those people believe that this is debate club. Buckley was right: you vote for the most conservative person that can win. Some people here still don’t get that.
I am glad I am not the only one who noticed that as well. I think it might say more about “us” than them. But heck that is only one man’s opinion.
