Student loan interest rates are bullshit. It’s a scam. They fixed them at rates 2x higher than average mortgage rates. Then, they make them the only thing not dischargeable in bankruptcy besides taxes.
There is NO competition in the student loan market. The rates are fixed, and WAY WAY above market rate.
Fixing the student loan interest rate problem is a good idea.

Watch how fast people ditch state universities. I predict a rise in enrollment at technical colleges as well as internship programs for those who see no point in a college degree.
As the tuition rises, the quality of education is falling!
Most of my professors hadn’t been out in the “real world” since the 80s so my education was extremely outdated. They hand you a piece of paper and say “good luck out there! oh... and donate MORE money to our school because you are a proud alumni!”
