JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - In addition to posting a $150,000 bond, the judge imposed several restrictions on George Zimmerman's release while awaiting trial.
Zimmerman was released on bail from the Seminole County jail early Monday morning, got into a white BMW and was driven away to a secret location.

Hack. Target. Eliminate.
“The program provides real-time monitoring of an offenders movements anywhere in the United States.”
Replace citizen with offender and it’s just scary. Overhead drones, black boxes in cars, chip implants. Orwell was so right.
What if a hacker breaks into the criminal justice system’s computer system for tracking criminals on probation and others like Zimmerman and starts broadcasting Zimmerman’s location?
Thousands of people are on pre trial release and have gps. If I were the judge, I would have done the same thing.
Me too. And that is precisely the problem.
The GPS Monitoring is not only an unnecessary invasion of George’s privacy, but more dangerously, the FBI will have real time access to Capt. Zimmerman’s whereabouts at all times as may White House officials with connections to the Black Panthers.
Good point.
The GPS info will probably be up for sale by now...
Oh for christ sake. Quit calling him a captain. He had authority over squat. Did he have lieutenants under his watch? He was an average citizen that was benevolent of his community. That’s being american. You don’t have to have a military rank to be an observant member of society.
What makes you think anyone needs to hack his information. All it will take is one employee working for the GPS company to decide to join the Zimmerman lynch mob.
Zimmerman is not on probation, he is not convicted of anything and is therefor in the eyes of the law presumed to be not guilty. Even if there is a trumped up charge he is innocent. Yet he has had his rights stripped, he cannot have a weapon to protect himself - even against those bounty hunting, he cannot come and go as he pleases, he cannot drink even to celebrate cinco da mayo, he is for all intents and purposes a prisoner. I seems to me that he has been tried in the press found guilty and sentenced. THIS IS NOT AMERICA! Zimmerman should receive protection not probation, I hear the secret service has a few men who have recently become available.
It puts me in the mind of Rwanda.
Only now it would be Twitter saying, “Cut down the tall trees...”
All the rights losses you listed happen automatically to anyone who is in the process proving themselves innocent. IT’s always been that way for criminal charges. The GPS thing is fairly recent but before GPS you were expected to notify the authorities where you were going and you were expected to refrain from leaving town for any reason.
This isn’t new stuff.
A judge has a right to impose pre-trial release conditions. Yes, I was a pr-trial release officer in Fl for 6 yrs. Its common to order daily alcohol checks and 3x per week uas on individuals who were not yet found guilty of crimes. Gps monitoring is also common in lieu of jail. Its about $$$$... I could go on forever. Z is getting a fair shake. At least he’s not eating peanut butter and cheese and freezing his ass off with no pillow or toilet seat.
Geraldo will be drawing a map of his movements on a grease board for his viewers.
Yes, I know Zimmerman isn’t on probation and hasn’t been convicted of anything yet, but his 2nd Amendment right has been stripped of him leaving him somewhat defenseless. I hope his location can remain anonymous in the mean time. But you know the media is doing their best to find him and will paparazzi him if they do.
Those that are threatening Zimmerman, law enforcement, the judge, et al and threatening to riot should be arrested immediately and tried, but we all know that isn’t going to happen.
Private Slayton is practicing his Saul Alinsky moves.
And having observed the Zimmerman/Trayvon/Farrakhan/Jackson affair for the past weeks, we still think and hope that there will be racial tranquility in this nation in the future?
.
Ooooh boy, that sunny beach, swaying palmtrees and blue water that I purchased unseen in North Dakota really looks inviting.
