When the histrionics get this freaky, you know there is more at stake than just writing a nice column for a newspaper.
I smell some serious fear here. And you know what? I like it.
I do not want Newt to give up. I do not want a coronation at the convention. Romney has not convinced me he has what it takes, and I am not going to be convinced by anything he says between now and the convention so he might as well stop trying.
I want a knock-down, drag-out, no-holds-barred, bare-knuckled SLUGFEST at the convention, and I want the RINOs to lose some teeth.
Someone needs to wipe the smug off their faces. I can practically hear them chortling with glee at the way they used the primaries so far to outflank the Conservatives and ensure that their chosen suit gets the nod.
To heck with that!
Stay in Newt! The Cocktail Party set needs to learn a lesson this time around.
Absolutely right. Newt is resurgent. You don't do desperate hit pieces if you think the opponent is no threat. When it looked as if Ron Paul would win Iowa, Romney's media came out with knives. When Cain started to surge, Romney's media quislings and super PAC took him down. They just ignored Santorum - weird. But now with Newt, they know their candidate (neither Mittens or Obammny) stands a chance in debate.
Newt needs to hang tough until the brokered convention. And it will be brokered because the lickspittle liberals in the GOPe won't be able to give Mittens enough delegates to secure the nomination.
