why can’t Jesse Jackson be sued for inciting violence...?

Interesting question. It seems obvious to me that activists like Jackson and Sharpton are deliberately inciting racial violence.

However, the person filing the suit would have to have “standing”, i.e., he would have to demonstrate that he was personally harmed by the specific act of criminal violence (e.g., the victim or the victim’s parent.)

Furthermore, the prosecution would have to prove to the court’s satisfaction that it was specifically Jackson’s remarks that caused the perpetrator to bring harm to the plaintiff. In the case of the beating in Chicago, the only evidence of racial motivation was the perpetrator’s “white boy” remark.

Just the opinion of some bloke. I’m not a lawyer.
