FWIW, I suspect Romney Jr. is eligible, but Romney Sr. was not eligible. This suspicion is based upon the assumption that Romney Sr. even if he was born inheriting his father's U.S. citizenship, a dual allegiance to Mexico due to place of birth or other sworn allegiance after birth, or birth not in the jurisdiction of the United States would have disqualified him as a natural born citizen for the purposes of the U.S. Constitution. If so, this may not have disqualified Romney Jr. in this election. Again, this has to be conjecture of one possible scenario among many due to the lack of reliable evidentiary documentation.

So far, the Republican Party is just as guilty of complicity in subverting the natural born citizen clause as the Democratic Party. Their promotion of Romney Sr., McCain, Romney Jr., Rubio, and Jindal is severely damaging their perceived and actual integrity as principled defenders of the Constitution.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has already testified before a Congressional subcommittee that SCOTUS is evading the natural born citizen eligibility issue. In other words, they do not want to upset the plans and strategies of their respective political parties at the expense of the Citizens’ rights to rely upon the Constitution to deny ineligible candidates from the Office of the President and the Office of the Vice President.

Thanks WhiskeyX--sounds like they will be kicking this can down the road forever, and nothing will ever be clarified. Don't know why we waste our breath even discussing the issue since it appears it will never be decided.
