Most leaders, here and in the UK, would far rather not speak, and be reelected today, and sell their nations down the river tomorrow.
Such leaders are vipers. It is hard to find any leaders, practically speaking, who are not fit for tarring and feathering (for starters).
And odd thing is, the Sikhs are emblems of good citizenship compared to just about any other group. Of course in the UK there are more of them than in the US. But they fall into the “good guy” category.
Without leftists/progressives, none of this would have happened.
