For nearly two months, George Zimmerman has been largely a cipher, a riddle whose voice has been heard only in 911 calls reporting a young man acting "real suspicious."
On Friday, the world learned more about Zimmerman as he, his wife and parents testified during a hearing in Sanford, Florida, to decide whether he would be released on bond while awaiting trial on a second-degree murder charge in the February 26 death of Trayvon Martin.
Zimmerman's wife depicted him as a man she has never seen angry. His father said he was a truthful man who had long been concerned with helping others. And his mother said he had organized a campaign to "get justice" for a homeless man who had been beaten in Sanford, as well as mentoring a 14-year-old African-American boy from a dangerous Orlando neighborhood.
Zimmerman has acknowledged killing Martin during an encounter in his Sanford neighborhood, saying he shot in self-defense. Critics have depicted the Hispanic neighborhood watch volunteer as a racist who profiled Martin because he was African-American.
His family said nothing could be further from the truth.
"I know that he is very protective of people, very protective of homeless people and also of children" -- regardless of their race, Gladys Zimmerman said in testimony meant to prove to Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. that Zimmerman would not be a threat to the community if allowed to leave jail while awaiting trial.
She said he has been a mentoring the 14-year-old for three years even though the program he had joined shut down after only nine months because of the economy.
She said she begged him not to go because of the danger.
"He said, 'Mom, if I don't go, they don't have nobody,'" Gladys Zimmerman said....

>>What are you going to do about the witness who says there was a chase?<<
And if you think that George could have caught up to Trayvon, I’ve got a nice bridge to sell you.
Thank you!
@Free your mind and the rest will follow.
I understand of course the value of having a defendant look presentable on the stand. That being said, Zimmermman does not come off as a stalker or racial profiler. There is enough hard information coming out now that people can give an educated opinion about the validity of the affidavit and the lack of legal evidence to charge him with 2nd degree murder. And because of that, Corey's ethics are now in question where they might not have been in prior cases. It really is beginning to look like the Duke LaCrosse case again. I wonder of attorneys for past defendants tried by Corey are wondering if their cases need a closer review at this time.
I think the innocent child named Trayvon wrote just the cutest things on Twitter. "Fu.k a bitch. Any bitch. Who you want?" They're just so cute at that age.

46 times in 8 years = 5.75 calls to the police (not all 911) per year. Big whoop. See the call log yourself before spouting off about things you know nothing about.
George Zimmerman 911 call history
He has a violent past, unlike the child he killed, charged with assault on a police officer, etc....
Not a police officer, charges were dropped. You're here to spread propaganda.
George Zimmerman arrested for assaulting officer, charges dropped
On March 29, 2012, ABC Action News obtained documents regarding George Zimmermans application to join Seminole County Sheriffs Office Citizens Law Enforcement Academy (click here to read the document) that contains information regarding a 2005 arrest for assault on a law enforcement officer.
In the application statement, George Zimmerman described the 2005 incident as follows.
I was arrested in July of 2005 for assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence. Both charges were immediately dropped to resisting arrest without violence, and then dropped all together.I was in an altercation with an undercover officer that was taking part in an ATF sting for underage drinking in UCF. He never told me he was an officer and assaulted me first. Shortly after that, in September 2005, the same unit was conducting a sting at UCF and an officer was killed by an OPD officer because he discharged his weapon and did not identify himself.
My father is a retired Magistrate Judge for the Supreme Court of Virginia and my mother was a deputy clerk of court for over 20 years. I hold law enforcement officers in the highest regaurd (sic) as I hope to one day become one. I would never have touched a police officer. Prior to and since that I have not been arrested.
Thank you and I hope to join you in January.
George M. Zimmerman.
When do we find out about the THUGG’s beat down on the bus driver.
Why did you pick this subject for you to come out of the LIBcloset?
Absolutely. Hope it brings lots of smiles.
Link please. That's the first time I've heard that.

I have Police Dispatch #’s from 4 counties in my phone. I call them sometimes a dozen times a month.
Doesn’t mean I’m a holster sniffer, and it has absolutely nothing to do with crime.
just part of my job to alert the proper authorities when certain activites in the execution of our work makes it necessary.
O’Reilly had two men on to discuss the case. The black man was someone I have seen on Fox before but I don’t recall his name. He alleged that Zimmerman initiated the confrontation. The white man described what Zimmerman did as an “execution.” So much for “fair and balanced.” O’Reilly at times seems to try to state things in a neutral fashion but he allows a lot of questionable statements against Zimmerman to go unchallenged.
He did not confront anyone. The kid came back and confronted and attacked him.Where have you been for the past weeks listening only to the MSM?
NO he did not say that! The dispatcher asked him if he was black and he said he looked black.Trayvon was not a light skinned kid he was very black and was 17yo 250# kid.You are not very well informed.
NO he was on hi way to his Dad’s girlfriends home and was looking into the yards of all of the homes that has just had a break in in the past weeks and is why 911 was called.I don’t know where you got your info but it is very wrong.
That is good to know.I am sure the WH picked this because of the last name begin Zimmerman and they thought they had a white guy.....
