The problem is hypocrisy. People will cut Newt slack for his logic, but rip on the lowly folks here though, who have said the exact same thing, with many precisely not happy about having to do it. Still the small fries get no quarter, but the big boys get a pass.

I personally hope Newt can pull it off. I am just sick of the double standards and lock-step groupthink the proles have to have, but the very same folks who say we all have to think the same pull out the excuse boxes for the kings of the party and don’t even regard their own hypocrisy one second. It’s like being trapped in “When Conservatives Behave Like Hardcore Liberals”.

I guess the proles are not allowed to actually play the game of politics, withhold their votes, or have some private Machiavellian purpose for taking some vote or decision that does not seem to make sense to your friends (at the time) but is later revealed to have been a masterstroke of politics!

The difference being is that it is expected of all and by all that the candidates will support the party and the nominee. We as prospective voters aren’t expected by all or obligated or bound to support the nominee or the party. There has been a lot of pressure on some to support Romney because he is inevitable or to at least declare that we will support him if he gets the nomination. If we make such a declaration we are counted as supporting Romney and that only makes him more inevitable and assures Romney he can expect Conservatives to fall in line without him even having to make any concessions or even promises to Conservtives other thant to proclaim himself to be severly conservative and not obama. I have two alternatives to Romney, Newt Gingrich and a brokered convention that could produce another candidate. I’ll not help Romney, let’s see who the nominee is and what our choices are. I would expect loyalty from Newt and for him to take any other path at this time except to pledge support for the party nominee would be wrong, I’m not held to the same expectation or standard.

The problem isn’t really hypocrisy.

The problem is those who keep posting, “it’s over, Romney is the nominee [sic], Newt is destroying the party, etc.”.

In other words, stop supporting your candidate because it is a hopeless cause. Well, to Hell with that! The people posting those messages are, I believe, not the realists they claim to be but Obots trying to discourage conservatives.

The nominating convention is 4-months away. No one, NO ONE, has yet been nominated. This is politics in all its wicked and evil permutations.
