I agree with what Frenetic has posted, here.
However, somewhere along the way, it became a pissing match. I believe Frenetic brought some (most) of it on himself by miminizing the seriousness of the actual event, of which I quoted, when I posted #142: "Keep in mind that the weapon was a fake. Nobody was injured."
That was an assinine comment.
I agree that this crime is not 12-felony, 60-year serious. But this is a serious crime and is definitely a one-felony, 10-year crime.
In short, I'm not sure Frenetic is a troll (although I withhold a conclusion here, and will observe him), but that he messed up.
I also have a hard time believing he is a teacher. Well, a good one, anyways.
I haven't made any comment so far on the charges or the potential sentence in this case, or what I think would be appropriate, but it should be noted that it is common to overcharge in an indictment and unusual for maximum sentences to be handed down. It would probably be unusual if he ended up convicted of all charges and then sentenced to the maximum.
As for the "pissing match" I tried to bring the discussion back to the topic and back to civility quite a few times and failed to get any movement in that direction at all. You won't get a reasonable response to your questions or even one that touches on the substance but I'll wish you luck in that effort anyway.
