Being that semantics is the study of meaning, words are important. If I meant ‘feel’ and what it implied I would have said it. Since I didn’t it is clear that it is you that cannot grasp the concept. :D
Furthermore, the context of the sentence was a challenge to the reader to think about the brevity of the crime vs. what the punishment is, and an appeal for rationality not an emotional persuasion. I guess that was lost on you too.
