NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A shipment of assault rifle ammo from Tennessee has ended up in Mexico and a U.S. truck driver is in a Mexican jail, but his boss insists it was just a wrong turn that landed him there.
*snip*
The driver, Bogan Akeem, is being detained by Mexican authorities. They will decide in the next 48 hours whether to charge him with smuggling.

The name jumped out at me when I heard this on the 10:00 news. With all the "OTMs" we know have been coming into the U.S. via Mexico, this incident stinks to high heaven.
Sounds like a good Amish name to me.....
Yep. And those Amish are notorious for getting into mischief like this.
it’s nordaniswedish and means “John Smith” or “Smitty Jones”
Lots more info here. Looks to be a wrong turn to me.
If I’m ever lost and see that sign, I’m turning left!
radu: You and your friend were loaded, but not with ammo.
I hope the medicine worked.
Thanks for finding that link. It has a lot more info than Channel 5 gave. But it leaves me with the question, Why wasn’t the truck checked when he went INTO Mexico? If he wasn’t planning to turn around once there, he could have gotten that ammo into the wrong hands. At least he did turn around.
Assault ammo, lol.
Ahhh, the good old days.
Methinks I’ll stay away from the border states. As many times as I’ve missed exits or taken the wrong ones, it would be my luck to end up in Mexico. LOL!
I hope y’all didn’t have trouble getting back.
Everything is assault ammo in the MSM's eyes.
I have a lot of stories from Mexico from having to bribe local police and federals to a night when I was to be killed by professionals who already had me in their building and control, to much more pleasant events including dating girls who had to bring an escort with us.
I don’t like the place anymore, it is just too random and insane.
I’ll bet he’s a Hezbo.....
“One hundred thousand dollars’ worth of bullets used in assault rifles like AK-47s and AR-15’s”
Huh. Never knew the Kalashnikov and the AR used the same ammo.
Gee, I wonder if the “clips” are interchangeable, too?
:-)
i think for 1 year colt produced an ar in 7.62x39 - I had one
There are 223 versions of the AK and 7.62x39 ARs.
There is a company starting to make a AR type rifle that will use AK magx.
