The Daily News can reveal the first photo of the 24-year-old Colombian call girl whose encounter with a cheapskate Secret Service agent ignited the agency’s worst sex scandal. One of the agents tried to brush off his girl, the single mother of a 9-year-old son known as Tania, the next morning with only $28 in cab fare. She caused a ruckus, demanding her full payment, so cops got involved and word reached the US Embassy.

I despise people who mistreat hookers. Yes, some of them like the work and do it because they want to, but for women in poor countries, there’s often not a lot of choice. That's more of a condemnation of modern morality (or, as some might say, a lack thereof) than it is as a justification.

As a general rule, I try to avoid using one bad behavior to justify another one. It gets one called out on it almost as fast as making a hypocritical pronouncement.

The only difference is that with hypocritical condemnation, it doesn't negate the truth of the statement; only the person making the case.

As I recall, Jesus didn't condemn what the Pharisees were saying so much as the fact that they were even more guilty of what they were preaching against.

Here's what I don't understand..has anyone EVER heard of a hooker/prostitute/escort..whatever they want to call themselves...who doesn't get the $$$, FIRST, UP FRONT.

As a former sailor who's been around the block a few times, here are some pointers on the hiring of LBFMs:

1A) If you are paying out of pocket, your standards are exactly where you afford them to be. Even in the Third World of 2012, fifty obamabucks should be able to get you something a lot fresher than the retread in the pictures. One's standards for looks should rise and fall with the price. That's the angle from which her appearance is being judged, not that every critic here is Brad Pitt. If you're going to spend, get some good value for your cash, not a visual memory that will haunt your dreams.

1B) Make sure you have hired a female and not a shemale. Portable lights are your friend.

2) If you engage the LBFM contractually, best policy is to negotiate the price up front and then pay promptly at the conclusion. No one bargained for cuddling.

3) If there is a contractual dispute with a LBFM, and diplomacy requires the situation be resolved discretely, PAY A COP MORE THAN YOU WOULD HAVE THE LBFM to rid yourself of her. It's easy to disappear people for a day or two in the Third World.

4) If a pimp shows before you can find a corrupt cop to pay off, be the first with the fastest and most violent response appropriate to your weapon circumstances. Most pimps favor knives for discrete carry and intimidation purposes, so favor a knife beating club (lamp, table leg, chair, towel bar) of some sort. If you have friends in the area when a dispute arises, hightail it immediately, failing that, ambush anyone who arrives to "sort it out" who isn't wearing a badge and a gun.

5) Never carry more cash than you are willing to lose or immediately part with.

Ultimately, unless one is truly desperate, LBFM's are best avoided altogether. Finding and chatting up expatriates was usually a far better score in exchange for the time and money spent.

The whole story smells like a “honey trap” to me.

It sounds to me more like an episode of a collective lapse in judgment, perhaps occasioned by poor management or serial disrespect as a consequence of such management.

That's not to say that third-party foreign influence was not in some way involved. But what you describe (metaphorically) is best achieved by compromising a single individual in pursuit of a narrow strategic objective. Vladimir Vladimirovich would know all about it.

Set up? Could be, due to the “fishiness” of the whole situation. Ruin a career for $50, lol. Even if you were over-billed by $1000 you better pay or else.

There’s a lot of debate on whether this girl is just about perfect and totally “not guilty”, or nothing special. She’s definitely not below average, even with a face that isn’t anywhere near as attractive as her body. However, she looks to me like an average 24 y/o girl with fake breasts added, not as pretty as Spitzer’s downfall. She’d get my attention, very easily, but I’ve never met a prostitute/hooker/escort who I felt was worth paying for - even before the cost of $28-$800 plus my self-respect might have escalated to include my job, marriage, family, reputation, and my country’s image.

I’m not convinced the guy tried to stiff the girl on payment, nor am I convinced that she tried to raise her rates after the fact once she saw his gun. The only thing I’m sure of is that these guys are now realizing what they should have figured out before they brought girls to their rooms while discussing money - they were being too stupid for words.
