You know, the ultimate legacy for me is not that Obama and his media minions did all they could to destroy Palin, dehumanize her, personally bankrupt her, character-assassinate her, slime and defame her children and family, accuse her of being a part of a mass-murder, write books accusing her of basically being a crack-whore, spend millions on a Hollywood movie to depict her as a retarded diva, and all the rest...
No, the lingering legacy for me is the way the GOP didn’t lift a finger to defend her, and in many cases, actually piled on. Three decades of being a staunch Republican, honed on the revived patriotism from back in the days of Reagan, nothing managed to thoroughly wipe out my opinion of the GOP like the abject cowardice and disloyalty that was served up towards Palin. Especially after she worked like blazes fighting Obama’s agenda in the earliest days when few others would, coupled with her massive efforts to get Republicans elected in 2010. I can’t feel anything but absolute disgust towards the GOP nowadays, and now that they have added to it by pushing a Massachusetts liberal as nominee, I just don’t want to have anything to do with the damned bastards.
Well said! This is why Im no longer a Republican. I registered as an Indie a while back after 33 years as a Republican.
Exactly.
This is why the Republican Party is dead to me.
I will not donate.
I will not support the candidates they ‘push’ on us.
The Republican Party declared a ‘war on women’ when they failed to defend Palin against outrageous and grossly sexists attacks.
My sentiments as well. Good post IMO. Thanks for that.
