My son is also 32. I just called him and he never heard of American Bandstand but does remember Dick Clark from the New Years programs.

Ha ha ha! You are too young to even know American Bandstand. It was such a fun show. Dick Clark hosted it for 31 seasons. The show featured teenagers dancing to Top 40 music.
