I can’t remember a day when I missed Bandstand. It was a must. Then we would call one another to talk about the show.

They called while watching the show. We had a large living room and sometimes the neighbors came over.

Remember when mom and dad wouldn't let sis see Elvis cause he swiveled his hips. Soon after they brought home hoola hoops and the were the first to try them out and show US how they worked. OTOH

Mom and dad were great dancers. Chaperoned all the school dances. Mom taught lots of young men how to dance. Learned all the “kool” dances and joined in. First on the floor and last off. My friends loved my parents. Have to admit they were lots of fun and good role models.
