That's the reason why we need a Savior. Jesus didn't die for us because H was so impressed with our lovable goodness. He died for us because we were so incorrigibly sick, selfish, stupid, wicked, and clueless, that He knew that only the most extreme intervention possible would save us.

You don't go nearly far enough. The Scriptures don't say just "some people" are born that way (depraved). The Scriptures clearly teach that every person is born that way. Deprived, meaning deprived of Sanctifying Grace and headed toward ruin.
