I have that book. As I recall she says that 1 in 24 are socipaths, after reading her book I would say that the percentage is much higher among politicians than the general population. I believe obama is a sociopath.
Some live in in an area too long and become trapped by economics and lack of surviving family.
Narcissism defined by the DSM-IV shares traits with sociopaths, like lack of empathy.
My take is that narcissists screw people over every way they can within the law, and many can be considered “successful”, as in become political leaders or have lucrative careers.
True sociopaths lack self control and end up killing folks until they are caught.
LAST SUMMER !
Where is (was ) the outrage and 24/7 coverage?
“Its probably time that we brought back hanging as a means of execution.”
‘...as THE means of execution.’ ... and on the courthouse steps. Also must have an expedited appeals process...a few months rather than years.
“True sociopaths lack self control and end up killing folks until they are caught.”
As I recall from the book few sosiopaths actually end up killing, not that they would find it reprehensible but only that it is not necessary to acheive their goals or are smart enough not to cross that line unless they believe it to be necessary. They are dangerous and many of them do kill.
If rapists were castrated with blowtorches, it would cut down on rape.
A broken clock is right twice a day.
Islam’s extreme corporal punishments for thievery must work.
Too French. Seriously, hanging *worked* for us for 335 years. We haven’t hung those who richly deserve it for a mere 47 years.
“The first hanging for murder took place in Plymouth, Massachusetts on September 30, 1630, that of John Billington who had come to America on the Mayflower and was executed for shooting another settler with a blunderbuss.”
“The last hangings, prior to suspension of the death penalty, took place at the Kansas State Penitentiary in Lansing, on June 22, 1965, when George Ronald York and James Douglas Latham, both aged 23, were executed for the murders of seven people in a violent rampage.”
“nobama sure has a lot of sons.”
And they ALL love killin’ whitey and then whinin’ that they got caught.
I don’t think that hanging as such should be mandated, just brought back as an acceptable, if not exclusive, means of execution, much as gun right have been brought back.
As far as *involuntary* expedited hanging, there likewise needs to be some clarity in the process, as should all death penalty sentences.
To begin with, after a state conviction and death sentence, there should be one, expedited appeal to the federal district judge for that state. The purpose of this appeal is for them to determine if there was any gross negligence or error on the part of the trial judge, prosecution, defense or jury. Minutiae does not cut it. It must be serious error.
If he discovers serious error, he cannot overturn the decision, but can only return it to the trial court for reconsideration. If the trial court reaffirms the decision, that is pretty much the end of the process, unless that state’s board of pardons and paroles recommends to the governor that the conviction should be commuted or pardoned entirely.
A typical complain that a jury is racially unbalanced should be dealt with at the start of the trial, as a pretrial motion. If that is not done, then waiting until after conviction is too late.
All told, the timetable for this should be that the required appeal is heard within a month after conviction, on an expedited basis, with a decision within a month after that. If it is returned to the trial court, 2-3 months should be set aside for reconsideration. This still gives more than six months for the state parole board to examine the case, give a recommendation to the governor, and for the governor to reach his decision.
All within a year of conviction. With execution to follow.
Hey, that could be Obama’s son!
I was making my own moral ranking of personally disorders. Some occupations require a little properly channeled OCD (call it perseverance) to excel.
A Narcissist would not be a mass murderer, but I would rank them right above murdering sociopaths at the bottom of an ethical scale.
While I believe there are more sociopathic politicians than the 4% of the population would dictate, I belive that among politicians sociopaths are outnumbered by narcissists. I still think obama is a sociopath, I wonder what Romney is?
He does not strike me as one who could kill or a narcissist.
I think he’s like a sleazy salesman who says whatever lie needed to line his pockets.
That shows a lack of empathy, but not necessarily the other self-aggrandizing traits of a narcissist.
Someone educated in abnormal psych could find out easily by speaking with him or his family.
