"The people here who are every day posting that it will be best to reelect Obama..."
Wow. I'm not on FR 24x7, but I have yet to see evidence of that from posters other than trolls. Good luck.

I hope that when the campaign is officially “on” that folks here will vote for the nominee, whoever it is.I don't have *much* hope however. For some absolute purity is more important than pragmatism.

This is sad. I suggest you withdraw for a while instead, and wait to see what happens on the forum. This is still a dynamic venue for the exchange of ideas. Things change; the unimaginable becomes fact.
Slow down, Nellie.

You are owed no apology. When you cast your vote for a man who does not follow in the platform of his own party, you are voting for a Republican in name only by definition.
Ergo, you are likewise a RINO. And if you are OK with that, great. But it is what it is and no amount of excuse-making changes verifiable fact.
To: Williams
Well said, best of luck. Im looking at getting more involved in the tea party and local gop.

...and told me to write my opus ...I'll bet that was rhetorical.
You can't really oppose Obama's reelection if you may also oppose the republican's election.
I can and I will if the Pubbie is Mitt Romney.

The campaign hasn’t begun yet.

Did you ping Jim to this sad opus?
I would have expected more from someone who has been here for so many years.

Sorry, there’s just no honorable justification for voting for a demonstrated liberal/Socialist like Mitt Romney - no matter what the pretext is.
Choosing between Obama and Romney are only two of the options that lay before the American people, unless of course, you’ve given up so much of your personal integrity and fighting spirit, that you’ve accepted those constraints.
Making either of those choices is throwing in with the very evil that you claim to oppose. A true patriot would rather give up everything, than do that.

The Mark Levin Rule is he’d vote for an orange juice can over Obama, and as a conservative will do everything possible to elect the GOP nominee. It’s a good rule.
This election is between a Marxist and a Moderate. Not my first, second, or third choice on the GOP side but I love my granddaughter too much to vote for a Marxist.
Best wishes.

Personally, I intend to write-in Newt or Sarah. But I still intend to vote hard-conservative downticket.
I can still respectfully disagree, although I would remind them that a vote for Romney is like voting for cancer, as opposed to voting for a .40 caliber slug to the forehead.
I understand those who would vote for cancer over the slug, since it would give a person a chance to get their affairs in order.
I'm in a state, GA, where I have the luxury of voting my conscious -- it's almost a foregone solution GA will go for Romney. But for those in less-certain states, I do understand voting for the slower death of America. A day delayed is a day lived, right? I get that. I might not necessarily agree, but I do get it.

For some absolute purity is more important than pragmatism. Explain to us how you make a pragmatic choice between two dyed-in-the-wool liberals?

I plan an attempted escape from America to a country of some more freedom, whereever that takes me, either way the election goes.
Escape-to-freedom is in my genetics. My grandfather was a Kulak in the Ukraine who escaped the collectives of Stalin, and the subsequent purges.
