Mitt Romney leads President Obama in the first Gallup national daily tracking poll.

Romney took 47 percent support from surveyed registered voters, while Obama took 45 in a poll conducted between April 11 and April 15. Romney's edge though is within the poll's three point margin of error.

Independents tipped the scale in favor of Romney, going for the former Massachusetts governor 45 percent to 39.

Add the fact that he’s below 50, only Obama is even further below. Babe Ruth, John Lennon, Sirhan Sirhan, John F. Kennedy and the tooth fairy will all, of course, be voting for Obama.

I’m not voting for Romney, but could I actually cheer an Obama victory?? Don’ think so....”

What’s this? 39% of independents like Obama? Must be masochists.

I think it is a really easy question to answer if you ask "Would you rather have Obama in the White House, or would you rather that John McCain had won?"

McCain isn't Reagan. Romney isn't Reagan. I get that. But I would rather have either of those two in the White House that Obama.

What some people here are calling "principle" is childish pride in not getting their way.

Yep. The minute Myth becomes the official nominee, he’ll never lead in the polls again.

Romney’s management of Bain was to Capitalism as a auto-wrecking junkyard is to the automobile manufacturers; Romney only knows how to cut-up and discard people and companies, not how to create anything as an entrepreneur.

yours is a statement based entirely on your misconception of what Romney actually did . When re-organizers go into a failing company, their goal is to figure out a way to save the company (Staples for example) but they are realistic and if salvation is not possible, they seek the best outcome for shareholders, employees etc. that is possible. Sometimes jobs are lost (they would have been lost anyway) but to accuse Romney of not being business literate is asinine.

I would have rather had McCain than Obama. Sarah made it so I could vote for their ticket rather than against Obama’s. I would rather Obama than Romney. We end up in the same state between the two of them and perhaps Conservatives can still be elected post Obama, they would not be able to post Romney.

Whee. Yay.

Only improvement over Obama would possibly be Romneys US Supreme Court justice appointments.

Hang me from the yardarm, but after all we’ve seen in recent years where the Republic has hung from a thread by a 5-4 decision, that’s enough motivation for me. Romney as my president couldn’t be much worse than having Harry Reid as my senator.

If you sit out and allow obama to win a second term you are part of the problem.

Perception is reality, and the ads the Dems will run will just show the heartless, mean cruel SOB who makes money off of the misery of the working man/women.

Facts don't matter.

“This is just push-polling to try to seal the deal for Romney at the GOP convention.”

LOL. The deal has already been sealed. Karl Rove told me so ;)

I agree. Obama turned out worse that I feared. Lots of reasons, such as Eric Holder, to vote for whoever runs against him.

Mittens is going to lose. The only question is whether he is complicit in this charade or just a rube. Either way, FUMR.
