An Army soldier who lost his arms and legs during his third tour in Afghanistan last week underwent surgery Monday as supporters from around the globe offer prayers and messages of hope on a family website.
Army Staff Sgt. Travis Mills, of Vassar, Mich., was injured when he stepped on an IED April 10 while serving with the 82nd Airborne in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. He is recuperating at a hospital in Germany and hopes to return stateside on Tuesday, three days after his 25th birthday, his father told FoxNews.com.

Keep those prayers lifting folks, because it is working!
Kelsey had not posted since the 26th when an attempt to ease the pain through spinal stimulation did not work : | but this morning she just posted this on twitter - “Travis got a good night of sleep, and he is sleeping now hoping he can just sleep through the whole weekend!! He needs to catch up on sleep!”
Thank you all again, and may God bless and keep you all.

Thanks for the link to Travis’ page. Prayers continuing.

So very good to hear Travis got some good sleep.
Wasn’t it though! Sleep is so important to healing, both physically and emotionally, as any sleep deprived new mom can attest to : o
Dear Lord, please continue to keep watch over Travis and his family, and give them all the strength and the patience they will need to get them through this indescribably hard time.
Thanks again amom, for the prayer bump. (Great screenname btw, small smile.)
Years ago, our kids elementary school, (small town, but still innercity), put on a “job fair” in the gym and the cafeteria, and asked parents to come in and man tables, to talk to the kids about what they did for a living, and how they became qualified for that job. We stay at home moms did a table, and had signs that said, “We may be “justamom”, but we do the most important job in the world.”. Our message was that without Moms, there would be no one in the school, or the world for that matter, at all, and that with Dads, (a very, VERY close second in importance ; ) our job was to raise good, strong, capable human beings.
Sorry for the rambling, lol. Probably should have FReepmailed, but what the heck, maybe it will bump Travis’ prayer thread, small smile.
May God bless.

Nice ramblings tart. 8D
Just said a prayer for Travis in church.
Travis bttt.
Oh Lord, give this young man strength to bear
his wounds.
Reading about men like this and then having to
listen to the tantrums of Occupy protesters,
makes me see red.
I agree. Our supposed "allies" that we are babysitting in the region are just as much stone aged, duplicitous barbarians as the Taliban are and will be until the end of time and not a single one of them is worth a drop of American blood.
Amen tet68.
Amen tet68.
Thanks so much, for the prayers and the bump, ya’ll.
From what I have read on his site and their twitter accounts, he was finally able to get somewhat decently caught up on his sleep this weekend, which is really great news. Hopefully Kelsey took the opportunity to rest as well. The strain of watching her husband in such pain, balanced with the necessity of being a tuned in mom for their for their little girl, is certainly wearing on her, whether she realizes it now, or not : /
Prayers everlasting for all of them, as they come together to work to get through this.
May God bless.

Here are a few more updates, from the bottom up - the 29th, the 30th and then today on top. Also included a link to a great video made by Travis’ cousin. It was made to promote a fundraising run, but it is a REALLY wonderfully, powerful video. Warning - Don’t watch without a tissue : \
Thank you Lord, for this amazing young man, his family and friends, and thank you for such awesome FreeRepublic prayer warriors.

From this morning - “PT is hoping to get Travis down in the gym today on the mat! @travismillsfund”
UPDATE FROM KELSEY MILLS (4/30 @ 4:00PM CDT)
Travis has had a long day. Had had an MRI on one of his legs though. It was clean, though. Thank God! His epidural was just making his leg numb, so he was unable to have full range of motion. He also got a custom wheelchair made for him, and he was able to drive up and down the halls. He did a lot today, so he is tired and hurting, but he is doing well! Going back in two hours to watch Monday night TV with him!
UPDATE FROM TRAVIS MILLS (4/29 @ 9:00PM CDT)
Thank you for all the love and support. I am doing well. This is a slow, day-by-day process, but with my family and friends by my side I’ll keep moving forward.
Wednesday morning Prayer Bump for Travis, and Justin, and so many others.
I am ever in awe of the strength of these young men and women, their families and friends. They are truly, what makes America great. May God bless them, every one.
The link is to a very powerful video. It’s original intent isto promote a 5k race in Travis’ honor, but it communicates so much more. About Travis, and about the kind of good folks who put it all on the line for freedom, for people who don’t even know them.
Dear Lord, please, keep watch over each and every one of them.

UPDATE FROM KELSEY MILLS (5/1 @ 9:30PM CDT)
Got to have dinner and snuggle with my hubby!
UPDATE FROM KELSEY MILLS (5/1 @ 11:30AM CDT)
Travis has already had a long but productive day. We went down to the gym. He got on the mat and did some exercises. The physical therapists said he is doing awesome. He is doing 2 to 3 weeks advanced work for his first time in the gym. He was also able to see himself in the mirror for the first time today. It was very emotional. He is absolutely exhausted now and sound asleep after a nice bath.
Thank you Lord, for strengthening this young man and his lovely wife, and family. And thank you Lord, for strengthening us, when we reach out to You on his behalf.
Prayers everlasting.
Tatt
Thank you for the update. Prayers continue...
