It seems unlikely that conservatives will find more political representation by abandoning the GOP. It seems more likely that all of the progress conservatives have managed to make over the past years will be undone...

The GOP has gotten is in the last 30 years
Lower taxes
Concealed carry in most states
Better judges (not there year, but much better than the Burger/Warren courts)
Removal of the AWB federally
No more partial birth abortion in most cases (not there yet)
State level improvements.

It's a long process.

you’re a fool if you believe the conservative agenda is best served by weakening the GOP. A conservative split would be a definite liberal touchdown. Romney is a jellyfish. He floats along with the currents. Our agenda is best served by controlling those currents and that is accomplushed by electing conservative Republicans at the state level and the congressional level. And yes, there has been conservative progress despite democratic control of the Senate and the Whitehouse. Imagine what we can do with full control of the congress and the whitehouse.
