One of the things that never ceases to amaze me is how Freepers can write thousands of posts about the dishonesty and deception of the media, yet when a sensational and salacious story such as this breaks they accept it simply because their own experience makes it plausible. They simply ignore that cover stories are crafted for maximum plausibility.
As I posted earlier, I don't know any more than the rest of the posters, but this story just smells wrong and MY first inclination is to doubt. I sincerely hope I'm wrong.
It may be just as described, but it also has a whiff of setting things up for a "purge" of the Secret Service and it's chain of command to replace them with people more personally loyal to Obama. IOW, his own Praetorians. We'll just have to wait and see.
We have a relative who is in the business. There is no doubt the as the security services of SS and State have expanded and there are a lot more guys in the business the drinking and whoring have gotten bad. Plus fights etc. Most of it never is made public, but our relative thinks they should be dry when on assignment overseas, but then half might quit.
Nobody here seems to consider the most obvious explanation - that this was a covert op orchestrated by an enemy power (e.g. Cuba) to embarrass the U.S. and the Obama administration.
On the other hand, our enemies probably love Obama, so scratch that theory.
He is the president. I don;t know the details but I bet he can change his SS detail and put in whoever he wants without scandel or resorting to tricks. You are reading way too much conspiracy theory in this.
