Being a south Kalifornia boy, those situations spook me....the last two summers we've been in central Minnesota when the sirens went off; quite a feeling of helplessness, especially if you're on the top floor of a Super 8 with nowhere to go.
Good luck - we've been flipping back and forth with TWC all day, since we've driven often through all those areas.

Fellow FReepers, please pray for my daughter Sarah and her family. They live in Omaha Nebraska and are expecting some F3-F4 tornadoes tonight.

Just getting back inside from securing things. Looks like the worst is going north of us, but we’ll definitely be getting some t-storms in a hour or so.

Fellow FReepers, please pray for my daughter Sarah and her family. They live in Omaha Nebraska and are expecting some F3-F4 tornadoes tonight.Just got a call from a friend that is driving through Omaha right now. I suggested he pull off the interstate and find a place to sit it out but he said he is just going to drive through it.
Tell your family to stay in the basement. They will be fine.
Have you gotten any updates.

“Cat 3-4-5 twister...”
Make that F3-F4-F5 Twister; Cat is Hurricane class.

We’re smack in the middle of the purple zone. Aired out the storm shelter last night have batteries, flashlights, water & cell phones ready to go. We have an elderly neighbor who will join us if the situation warrants. Keep this area in our prayers. Thanks!

We’re in a flash flood warning now, although it sounds like the worst of it so far has gone just to our south, around Beatrice.
The tornado watch for here is only until 7pm, which seems weird considering what I’ve read about the threats for tornadoes being in the evening and wee hours.
Weather like this is why we refuse to live in a house without a basement.
To: carriage_hill
We may get some weather tomorrow..There’s only a slight chance storms could be severe..I am so glad you are secured and hope you are out of the worst of it.

If the federal government would just move all of the people out of the tornado belt area, then we would not have to worry about the number of tornados or how severe they are. Of course, PETA would demand stormshelters for the wildlife in the area.

They would, right after the euthanized them all, and collected US Taxpayers’ monies for “caring for them”.
