What Zimmerman did or what he said has nothing to do with it.
Hmmmmm?
Blindfold yourself and judge them (GZ/TM) by the content of their character alone.
Now that the “coon” controversy has been cleared up, where are all those freepers who insisted he was a bigot??
and we thought lynching and lynch mobs were passe.
When you do that a lot of complicated things become clear.
Tan Klan bigots with hoods.
great moments in enlightenment: a kid is dead, another’s life is ruined, a nation is torn apart, the priority is did somebody say “nigger” or not.
He supposedly said "bleeping coon", but those who have listened to the tapes and know the context say he was remarking that it was "cold". far more likely than the racial slur that so many want to be true because it will "prove beyond a doubt that he called the police despite having every intention of killing the sweet kid".
“coon” is on the no-say list? I think that’s more of a South Carolina-ism than a Florida-ism, but I could be wrong on that.
Well put.
Yep - can’t say “coon” even if it’s in the sentence, “Sweet taters and coon; yum!”
Too late. The leftist media has already tarred him as a evul racist who deliberately stalked a poor innocent black child and shot him for the fun of it. Zimmerman is going to be railroaded.
My saying “railroaded” doesn’t mean that I know he’s innocent of any crime. I don’t know. But he should get a fair trial regardless and I don’t believe he will. If he doesn’t get a fair trial it will be a railroading and if the outcome is right it will be purely by accident.
I want to see the videos. Both the one at the 7-11 and the ones inside the gated community. (There is at least one at the entrance, maybe more)
Wouldn’t the lenient FoI laws in Florida make them available to the public. If his parents have seen them we all should.
Am betting he doesn’t look young and innocent.
Emailed A couple of media types this AM asking why they had not requested them.
I have a friend who was totally convinced that Zimmerman said that word he was accused of saying, to the point of trying to rile up her Facebook friends with a “Ooh- listen to this, he called him a coon!” post. I’ll ask her when she plans on posting her retraction.
Not only did I hear Cold when listening, I thought the dispatcher’s comment “you don’t have to do that” was in reference to he didn’t have to get out in the cold and rain.
After all she had just commented to him to keep an eye of TN.
(So in reality it’s her fault that TM (as in Trademark) is dead./liberal logic)
I think she settled on "punks" for the word that no one can understand on the tape. Maybe it's "Punx" and Zimmerman was comparing the hooded man to Punxsutawney Phil.
Now, this is a distinct and very likely possibility, that it seems to have occurred to no one else on this site (including myself)!!!
That's a fair and even-handed explanation of the dispatcher's and George's potential common mindset of the moment, a completely different slant if they both independently describe it.
Your perception completely undercuts the presupposition of those who wish to impute a demeaning twist to Z in their own racist-colored interpretation.
My thought is that you now have the burden of giving that thought wider exposure. Use it again, and again, please, whenever you can!
But please! use the dispatcher's precise words:
"We don't need you to do that."
(= we don't need you to stay out in the cold and rain to follow the subject person)
(a non-directive statement and observation?)
Why give them the web hits?
