This beast is on a power trip.

Scott was smart in naming her, she's expendable, a loose cannon, and a moron.

Upon taking office, Corey terminated 10 assistant state attorneys, over half of the investigators, and 48 support employees. In 2010, the Florida Times-Union reported that Corey sent 230 juvenile felony cases to adult court in 2009. This amounted to twice the number of juvenile felony cases placed in adult court in the years prior to Corey becoming State Attorney.

whoa....

It took 44 days to get to charging Z with 2nd degree murder. during that time no doubt Cory, bondi, Govenor Scott and MAYBE even the DOJ came up with the decision to charge Z....EVEN if the case is flimsy and will be thrown out at arraignment.
they may have collaborated to do this because there is no downside to charging him AT THIS POINT.

It may have been the best decision in light of the political-racial environment. To at this point say “ not enough evidence, everyone go away, we aren’t charging him” would play into the race baitors and anger.
This way, Cory says,”We charged him, we went forward with the evidence, and the case was dismissed. we tried the best we could and we moved forward with the justice system.”

This also gives at least a month for things to cool down, for a FORMAL review of the evidence with the DOJ involved and then there will be a formal report of the evidence. NOW no one would believe that justice was even served.

Yes, this shouldn’t happen this way, but its reality and in the long run may be better for Zimmerman and stronger for the “hold your ground:”law.
