This obviously has zero legal implications, but it’s very interesting nevertheless. I’ll be curious to see how/if Sharpton, et al react to this.

“Accidents” of course, can still be criminal, but it’s hard to square an accident with a second degree murder charge.

But you’re right - a little late to try to cool off the mobs now...

Part of me thinks that Zimmerman was actually anxious to be taken into custody because at least, in jail, he is safe and has a chance to have all the evidence presented and his side of the story heard.

He stood no chance to have justice with the mentality of the mob rule that was being flamed by vigilantes such as the New Black Panthers, Sharpton, Jackson, et al. I am sure he was in grave danger out there and he knew it, which is why he disappeared and stopped contacting his lawyers, etc.
