Actually, the State bringing charges is not all that stupid.

If they had not brought charges they knew that things would have exploded with riots etc.

Now that charges have been brought it appears the mother and probably all the family will now start ‘talking down’ the racists as they know what really happened.

Now if the case is dismissed or a not guilty verdict is reached at trial they are hoping all the evidence will dissipate the tensions and hopefully avert riots.

it is a calculated gamble by the state — trade 100% sure riots for a 25-50% chance there are no riots when Zimmerman is exonorated.

And then there is always the possibility that there is evidence that shows the charges are justified — although I think this is highly unlikely.

I agree with your post 100%. It is just not our way to charge someone with a crime for the purpose you described.

I am not operating out of the assumption of anything.

I don’t know what evidence the prosection has. Nobody does but Zimmerman’s defense.

But if the mother of Trayvon believes it was an accident, she may know more than we do.

You have to admit that now Trayvon’s mother believes it to be a tragic accident, it makes the charges look more suspect.

Commish, you truly deserve the title for that spot on analysis.

That is some risk although your anyalis(sp) was probably part of the states decision.

You dont charge somebody based on what the mob may do, but on the evidence. It appears this is what has happened.

Now mommy says it was an accident? Also I understand that Ms Corey met with the Martin family when she was first appointed. This is totally improper.

Justice for Trayvon? How abt justice for Mr. Zimmerman.

Geez what a mess.

There is a 100% chance of riots no matter what happens.

Whatever happens will be the excuse for the riots, which were the object all along.

"Actually, the State bringing charges is not all that stupid.

All it does is take the heat off some of the higher ups in FL, and put it on Sanford and it's PD.

"If they had not brought charges they knew that things would have exploded with riots etc."

That is an assumption. Do you have any evidence that has happened in the past?

"Now that charges have been brought it appears the mother and probably all the family will now start ‘talking down’ the racists as they know what really happened."

Or they want to reduce their exposure to future lawsuits if Zimmerman walks.

"Now if the case is dismissed or a not guilty verdict is reached at trial they are hoping all the evidence will dissipate the tensions and hopefully avert riots."

You betcha...After the Rodney King trials tensions were dissipating all over LA, for days!

"it is a calculated gamble by the state — trade 100% sure riots for a 25-50% chance there are no riots when Zimmerman is exonorated."

Again. Empirical evidence supports those percentages, in reverse.

"And then there is always the possibility that there is evidence that shows the charges are justified — although I think this is highly unlikely."

Finally, we agree.
