This is the SAME reason so many conservatives gave for not voting for McCain in 2008. He would nominate liberals to the Supreme Court.

So, let’s take a look at McCain’s record on his votes ON the two liberal justices nominated by Obama, the man you and many others want to re-elect by following the lead of the mainstream media.

Kagan - No.

Sotamayor - No.

What I suspect now is to hear that IF McCain had been elected, he would have nominated justices who received his no votes

If the conservative temper tantum, helped by the mainstream media, had not happened in 2008, would we even HAVE Obamacare?

Let’s take a look at John McCain (the rino) and his vote on that, shall we?

Yes, he was the same as Obama. That’s why he could not be supported by conservatives in 2008, right? While the mainstream media encouraged you to stay home because that awful John McCain was just not conservative enough to earn your vote. It would have been horrible to have McCain (who DOES love his country) and Sarah Palin in the White House, preparing her for the 2016 nomination.

And again...........in 2012, good conservatives are willing to give the election to the mainstream media and Obama.

I voted for McCain in 2008, so you’ve got the wrong guy. He was pro-life, pro-defense, and he picked Palin.

Romney, on the other hand, has a grotesquely liberal record. I’m surprised you can’t see the difference, swpa_mom.

1. You don't know that McCain would not have appointed liberal justices - it's just speculation on your part. If you research the recent history of the Supreme Court, you will find that many of the most liberal justices were appointed by so-called moderate Republican Presidents.

2. It is silly demagoguery to blame conservatives for McCain's loss to Obama. He lost the race when he went back to Washington and voted for TARP.

3. Finally, as bad as McCain was, he was no where near as bad as Romney. McCain often crossed the aisle, but at least he had to make the trip. Romney is squarely seated on the other side of the aisle - and the far left side at that.

(imho) mccain lost when he joined hands with zer0 and voted for the bailout. He (mccain) also was pushing for health-care. There were some differences between the two, but mccain lost sight of where Americans stood, enter the TEA Party. A chance, after mccain lost was a realization (perhaps) he (mccain) had erred. Therefore the votes your post notes. With mittens one can kiss the Supreme Court and our Constitution good-bye. With zer0 the same can be said, yet therein lays a chance. To save the Republic and the Constitution is the plan. As Ben Franklin said, We have a Republic, if you can keep it. I’ll vote to keep the Republic and the Constitution. This is simply me. The divergence of opinion is why our Republic stands to this day (imho). With mittens (imho) one is electing a zer0, for will probably be the same result as a zer0. Excuse you, but most Conservatives held their noses and DID vote for McCain in ‘08 - myself included. Most of them because of his choice of Palin for Veep.

And he got trounced.

Same as now, Obama WANTED to run against McCain - you can see that by the way the media feigned ‘worry’ if McCain was the GOP nominee against Obama. Same as it has done now in 2012.

I will say this again, when two Socialists are running for high office, the greater Socialist is going to win by the support of those whose religion is the Left.

There is less of a chance for Romney to beat Obama than there was for McCain in ‘08. Palin generated a lot of hope and excitement of Conservatives to vote FOR the ticket in 08, for Palin alone.

Romney generates NO enthusiasm among Conservatives to go out and vote FOR him. Voting for a candidate just to stop an opponent is a losing proposition.

Besides, as has been pointed out - our national woes are from the bottom up, not the top on down. Electing someone to the top spot is NOT going to stop our collapse into ruin, already-in-progress.

And many of us Conservatives have decided that we are finished being battered by an adulterous party that despises us and only uses us for one thing, only to betray and discard us while they fool around with the enemy to get a piece of the action.

You are forgetful. Most of us *did* hold our noses in 2008. We supported Sarah Palin and John McWhatsHisName. How did that work for us? The GOP moved FARTHER LEFT! Romney is on par with Hillary Clinton -- they could be running mates, except she would have to be on the top of ticket as she is by far the more competent. If that is what passes for the new and improved GOP these days, count me and every other *genuine* conservative out. Don't blame us because McCain didn't win. He didn't win because he couldn't "out liberal" the liberal Obama. The liberal with a "D" behind his name beats the liberal with an "R" behind his name in every general election. Should Romney be the candidate, I expect no less from him. I'd bet on it.
