Is Romney my first choice? Nope,Governor Palin is.Is Romney my *second* choice? Nope. But,as Rush often says "I live in Realville".If you study "RINOs" of recent years, particularly those who've served in the Senate, you'll find that they vote correctly at least occasionally.Take Collins and Snowe in Maine for example. They're routinely referred to here, and elsewhere,as RINOs.But,although the ADA website seems to be down now (so I can't find their rating there) we know that they BOTH voted correctly on OsamaObamaCare.I dare anyone to find a New England Rat politician who would have done so.Just one,I dare you! But it's getting late so I'm gonna close by saying, even if Romney takes the correct position on 10% of the important issues, that will be 10% more than an unencumbered Osama Obama would during a second term.
Folks here, including Jim Robinson himself, can form a third party...and Osama Obama and his mentors,Saul Alinsky,Bill Ayers,Bernadine Dorn,"Reverend" Wright,Skip Gates & Friends will party well into the night. For a practical example of what can happen when anything of that sort occurs one only need to study the 2010 Governor's race in Massachusetts and how a filthy, utterly amoral but *very* smooth pal of Osama's,nicknamed Coupe Deval, was reelected with 48% of the vote.
And with that I'm fully expecting to be banned...permanently.If that happens I bid you all farewell.
You’re a tool. And a coward. A surrender monkey. Willingly voting for a known abortionist/socialist constitution trampling liar. Going down on your knees for the evil bastards for political expedience. If I were you with your cowardly attitude I wouldn’t wait to be banned. I’d flee this pro-life conservative site as fast as my weak knees could carry me. But that too would take guts and obviously you don’t have any.
So long, RINO.
It is four months until the convention, a conservative former Speaker of the House is still in the ongoing primary race, and all you want to talk about is why you will vote for Romney in the general election? GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND WORK GET A CONSERVATIVE NOMINATED INSTEAD OF ROMNEY!
I refuse to vote for evil, lesser ot greater.
I am done with that.
There IS a difference between voting for a local RINO in a very blue region and backing a RINO as the national leader of the party with power over all 50 states. Let’s also keep in mind that Snowe and her ilk voted in Supreme Court justice Kagan. If the 5 or so RINOs who voted for her had switched against her, she could have been filibustered. Which also helps show you that if we back conservatives in Congress, we could help put the brakes on the Obama agenda. Yet if Romney appointed the same justice Obama did, a bunch of Republicans will go along with it “to take one for the team.”
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.
I share all the sentiments/frustrations of being left with a RINO choice for voting for President. Also, like you, my first choice was Palin (really badly wanted her to run, like so many others did). But then, after conducting a very public activist/agenda-promoting campaign for 3 years, she waited until the very very last minute to announce she was opting out of 'the' most important election in my lifetime of voting (since 1976).
Two things stand out with respect to my hopes and views of Palin:
1. I looked enthusiastically for 3 years towards her running for President (like so many others), based on her very public agenda-promoting activities on national issues. Cultivating a persona of 'fighter' and 'do-er' ("Mama Grizzly", etc..), perpetuating a direction of 'involvement' and attempting to influence the political direction of this country. All the while NEVER SAYING NO to running for President until the very very last minute. Taking things to the very edge of the precipice and then backing off - turned me off.
2. Along the way she exhorted that the most important thing in this primary would be... 'who' would be chosen, then proceeded to want to not provide any full-body endorsement of anyone (unless you call giving out endorsements on a 'state-by-state basis' a full-body endorsement). If you say and believe that it was 'that important', then why play coy and not come out and say 'who' it should be? The lack of focus and indecision on which conservative to support in the primaries contributed to a splitting of the vote by the also indecisive electorate, thereby giving Romney sufficient space to eek out some early wins.
So, in summary (for me) based on points 1 and 2 above.... Palin 'strung us out', and lost a momentous opportunity TO HOLD BACK THE LEAST DESIRABLE choice from getting the nomination. There are many people to blame for why we are stuck with Romney. You just can't blindly blame the "establishment", but a big share of the blame also has to go to "conservative" leaders and voters alike who allowed the "conservative" vote to be split instead of backing one single candidate - especially AFTER South Carolina!
So, my first choice turned out to be a Coke without the 'fizzle'.
Now what?
Do we continue to take on the 'primary' fight right up until November?
People need to look into the mirror and ask if they 'really' believe that this is just 'another election' or if 'our country's future is at stake'?
If you think that it's just another election, then play out your cards accordingly.
If you think that 'our country's future is at stake', then the choice should be obvious!
