I don’t understand why people do not see this as a win-win.
1. George was not safe, did not have the resources to live in hiding and presumably wanted to tone down the fury.
2. The wind is out of the sail of the race baiters for the moment. No summer riot or retaliations, hopefully.
3. His former lawyers, the police and Distric Attorneys are insulated from current threats.
4. It is the most slam dunk case of self defense imaginable.
5. George is now protected and nothing will happen with this case until after the election.
p.s. I suspect George will be treated with the utmost deference by his jailers

I had similar thoughts. The Prosecution will present the evidence, which is minimal. The Defense will have the videos of George’s injuries, the audio of him screaming as his head is being bashed, the witness who saw him being beaten, the testimony of the black children George and his wife mentored, etc., etc., etc.

For now, he’s relatively safe (they’re not saying where), and the DA has charged him so the media is off their backs.

I think you’re right.

They’re still demonstrating at the University of Delaware tonight. They look a bit dumb as they flash pictures of the protesting students because George is now in custody.

The wind is out of the sails. What else they gonna b..tch about now?
