Bummer.
Not knowing all the facts, I can’t say that he should walk.
But not knowing all the facts the law shouldn’t lock him up.
People are routinely arrested before all the facts are known, based on probable cause. Then you have an arraignment, bail hearing, omnibus motions, discovery...
He’ll probably plead not guilty and raise the defense of self-defense at the arraignment, get no bail because he’s a flight risk, and move to have the venue changed due to excessive publicity and passions, as well as move to dismiss the complaint after discovery is completed. In discovery, both sides exchange evidence that they intend to use so nobody’s taken by surprise.
Of course, that’s what a lawyer would do for him prior to trial. Are his “lawyers” representing him again? Does he have new ones?
HG I’m very surprised at your comment. For weeks things have been coming out which painted a very clear picture indeed. Including the ‘bash’ marks on the back of the man’s head; the eyewitness who saw that Martin was on top of him pummeling him; audio of him screaming for help.
Do you honestly believe that if there was a shred of doubt that the cops would not have arrested him on the spot?
The police report stated clearly the man was bleeding from the nose and back of head.
It was like Rush pointed out today, if this man had been over in the sand pits of hell and a Islamic fanatic attacked, the outcome would have been the same and no one (except Hussein) would have been screaming for his head.
This is a political lynching pure and simple.
'bout the only facts we don't know are those involving the results from the medical examiner and CSI types. Was it a contact or near contact shot, and was the trajectory upward and from front to back as it should be to match Zimmerman's and eye witness's statements. A 9mm at close range will really make a mess.
