You have been one of the voices of reason throughout this
ordeal. My problem, is that if they HAD the evidence needed to go to trial, they would have already arrested him.Now I fear they might arrest him for pure political expediency, and town safety.
I used to trust the system to do the right thing, to follow the law. Then I studied FL election law before the Supreme Court of Florida rendered its decision. I was shocked - the highest court had cherry picked the statutes and radically disrupted what could have been an orderly process of settling a close election.
Same sensation in just about any gun case - and recently in Indiana's Castle Doctrine court fisaco.
So, it comes down to Corey's and the state of Florida's commitment to the rule of law. I hope they have it, but I wouldn't bet a nickle they do. Hot cases are decided outside of the law, and then the law is twisted to fit. The state doesn't give a shit about any individual citizen.
The right thing to do is follow the law. The reporting on this case has been upside down from the start. Corey could set it right side up by announcing a finding that Trayvon Martin was in the act of committing aggravated assault when he was killed.
